Moved to Eddyville KY
Even a “once in 500+ year” flood can’t dampen the spirits of the Bose-Reid Case XX Tour. Originally slated for the Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, Tennessee, the Bose-Reid Tour was held this past Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Shepherd Hills Case XX Store in Eddyville, Kentucky. The Eddyville staff, known for their southern hospitality and expertise in Case knife knowledge made everyone feel right at home, allowing all to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow knife enthusiasts.

The guests of honor, Ida Reid, President & Founder of Shepherd Hills Cutlery and Tony Bose, Case Knife Collaborator & World Renowned Custom Knife Maker brought many stories and much laughter to the tour as they exchanged stories of their experiences in the knife industry and life in general with all who were there.
Case XX Knives and Stories

The Bose-Reid Tour Knife, a Caramel/Natural Bone Magician’s Saddlehorn was most definitely a highlight as no Case Saddlehorn had ever been produced with a cigar band of any kind, and this one was even more unique as it was laser engraved with Tony & Ida’s names & locations. Limited to 150 pieces, Case knife enthusiasts were able to gather the autographs of Tony & Ida on the accompanying Certificate of Authenticity.

In addition to the Bose-Reid Tour Knife, of course it was only fitting that there be offered a “2010 Historic Nashville Flood Knife”. Only 100 of these Case XX Mini Trapper were produced, laser engraved with a special “Historic Nashville Flood” logo. These knives were the commemorative debut of the “2010 Historic Nashville Flood” knives. The many Case XX Knives actually caught in the Nashville flood waters, now being refurbished by W.R. Case, will be etched with the same logo as the commemorative mini trapper…however, for the knives actually caught in the flood waters---- the etch will be on the blades. They will be available for purchase in a few weeks. (Be sure to check back on our website frequently or sign up for our email newsletters to get the latest on release dates for these flood knives.)

Case XX Knives at Special Prices

Case collectors found lots of action around the literally hundreds of choices on the “Case XX Specials” table. With Case XX knives being offered from past displays at 50-60% off the Manufacturer’s List Price, many collectors came by this table multiple times, as stock was replenished throughout the day.

It’s always a large part of the enjoyment to see the many relationships that develop from this common bond of Case XX knives. Case collectors come in all ages and from all walks of life, but at a Shepherd Hills event, it just seems that all are of a like mind, appreciative of the beauty and craftsmanship of what is at once both an American made work of art and practical tool. This event was no exception.

Case XX One of a Kind Grand Prize

The grand finale of the day, was the GRAND PRIZE drawing for the “one of a kind” genuine Mother of Pearl Bose-Reid Tour Knife. As the crowd gathered and waited to hear whose name would be called, hopes were high. Zachery McElya, a young Case Collector attending with his grandfather, was not disappointed. Upon hearing his name called out, for just an instant there was a look of disbelief and then…. a smile as wide as Texas. He not only received a terrific piece for his collection but what a memory he and his grandfather will have to share…..winning the Pearl Bose-Reid Tour knife ! We’re pretty sure he felt just a little like a “rock star” as most in the crowd wanted to have a chance to shake his hand and congratulate him !

We sincerely want to say thanks to all of our customers for their support and attendance at this year’s “re-located” Bose-Reid Tour. We appreciate your sticking with us and hope you enjoyed your day, building memories along the way to accent and enhance your Case Knife Collection.
