Shepherd Hills Collectors' Club
Silent Auction for Case XX Knives
September 10, 2010
Unforeseen, unexpected, and unwelcome, the Historic Nashville Flood of 2010 has been declared a “once in 500 year flood” by public officials. Due to the flood, the Shepherd Hills Cutlery store in Opry Mills Mall was forced to close, along with the entire mall.
Since then we’ve had lots of requests from customers wanting to buy a Case XX Knife that was actually in the flood. So, as a marker of the history of our times, W.R. Case & Sons have restored 100 of the knives that were actually under the waters of the flood to be like new. Each knife has been embellished with the color version “The 2010 Historic Nashville Flood” blade etch.
As stated above, there will be only 100 of these historic knives. Ten of them will be awarded to the crew who worked long, hard hours to get the Shepherd Hills Opry Mills store cleaned up after the flood. A portion of the 100 Historic Flood Knives will be put up for bid in a silent auction exclusively for SHCC members, a portion will be put up for online bidding, and the remainder will be put up for bid in a silent auction at the Case Celebration in the Ozarks for all customers in attendance.
Here are the Knives to be sold at Silent Auction at the Shepherd Hills Collectors' Club Annual Party on Friday, September 10, 2010.
