Well, the "un-ordinary" (yes, we made that word up ) was about to begin, as Greg Stark, Shepherd Hills Branson Manager, asked a nice looking young man to draw out the name for the winner of the first Case XX Hourly Drawing.
While the crowd looked on, (what are the odds ?) with around 200 registrants in the bowl, this young man pulled out his Dad's name, garnering a FREE Case XX knife for his pop! Now, that's luck !

For the next hourly drawing, Larry Myers' name was called out. As he stepped up to claim his prize, Larry Myers stepped up to claim his prize. (No, that's not a typo...there were actually two Larry Myers, not related or even acquainted with one another at the event.)

In the spirit of fun, that's always paramount at any Shepherd Hills Event, BOTH Larry Myers were awarded a FREE Case XX knife, EVEN THOUGH, one of them was wearing a KU hat (having bravely crossed the border into "Mizzou" country with a buddy of his to attend the President's Tour).

Then , lo and behold, our next hourly drawing was won by---THAT KU BUDDY. (You see now how we're wondering about the planets lining up....)
At this point, the MIZZOU fans, Rod Reid, Co-Owner of Shepherd Hills & Greg Stark, Branson Store Manager decreed, that win or no win...no more KU hats could be in the photos !

Even the refreshments were fun as Dan Crisp, a Shepherd Hills Associates displays his masterpiece:

Well, actually it's his wife, Carolyn's masterpiece...it tasted every bit as good as it looked.

In amongst all this funny business, Tom Arrowsmith, President and CEO of W.R.Case Cutlery joined in while also giving Case enthusiasts opportunity to share a tale, ask a question, and get an official Case Presidential autograph on their President's Tour Certificate and other Case memorabilia. The 2009 Case Presidential Tour Knife is gorgeous in rich Smooth Old Red Bone on a brand new pattern for 2009 the Case Humpback Stockman for $ 89.99.

With only 100 of these available in Branson, they were a definite highlight, eclipsed only by the ONE President's Tour Knife that you could NOT BUY---the genuine Mother of Pearl Presidential Tour Knife....the Grand Prize, one of only three produced.

A true "hush" fell over the crowd, as a young lady drew out the winning name. That name happened to be , Lawrance Brown, a young Case Collector from Springfield, Missouri, who never passes up an opportunity to come to the Case XX Knife Store. While Lawrance collects Fixed Blades, he didn't refuse the Mother of Pearl Grand Prize, acknowledging that he thought he could fit it into his collection quite easily.
Congratulations, Lawrance !
We thank all who were able to attend, and truly hope you had as good a time as we did.
